To do this, we will ask all time agents and associate collaborators to participate in Federation meetings (currently held with various video and teleconferencing platforms) to inform Federation representatives and organizers of the status of your job, so that you can work with us to facilitate this new process or clause. The Federation began at the end of 2019 with taFE NSW for a new agreement on teachers and related employees. “TAFE NSW continues to work with the NSW Teachers Federation to meet commitments that can be implemented outside of enterprise negotiations, including the transformation of temporary workers into permanent jobs, and also to create new consultation agreements between the two organizations. We look forward to providing more information on these commitments when the time comes. While this agreement occasionally swallowed, there were a large number of teachers who took advantage of it. Unfortunately, all directives and agreements that were not part of the EA were ignored by the subsequent administration after the introduction of the Federal Fair Work Act. “The directors received a salary increase after a new enterprise agreement was reached for the directors of the TAFE.” So far, ten formal meetings have been held between federation and TAFE NSW, and regular meetings have continued. Both parties have committed to agreeing as soon as possible to a proposed new enterprise agreement. Until now, teachers who were long-term temporary workers had no certainty about the current employment and often relied on the Federation`s commitment to move to permanent service with TAFE NSW.

“COVID-19 has had dramatic consequences for communities and professional life. Negotiations for the new enterprise agreement have been halted, while TAFE NSW continues to assess the impact of COVID-19,” said a TAFE NSW spokesperson. In addition, Mr. Gavrielatos asked the Prime Minister to change the decision and respect the agreement in good faith. Our EA determines our working conditions and, with national employment standards, contains the industrial requirements of all teachers and related employees. In collective bargaining for an EA, the union is more concerned than a simple wage increase; it continues to strive to include formulations to alleviate persistent difficulties in the workplace. Federation and TAFE NSW have held numerous meetings at which we are making progress in reaching agreement on key issues. Key issues identified by TAFE members, who conducted a forward-looking survey distributed to all workplaces, included a 2.5 per cent wage increase without loss of conditions, an increase in tenure and access to genuine professional development for the maintenance of the professional currency. A spokesman for TAFE NSW said it had participated in “constructive negotiations” with the NSW Teachers` Association for a new enterprise agreement after the previous one expired in February. The Australian Education Union NSW Teachers Federation and TAFE NSW began negotiations late last year for a new Tafe Commission of NSW Teachers and Related Employees Enterprise Agreement. Both parties have an interest in robust and fast business negotiations and are committed to this. It has never been ideal, let alone fair.

Pending the formal inclusion of this clause in the agreement on teachers and related workers, the Federation will continue to monitor temporary work.
